A Parish Prayer Group, guided by Fr. Alan Mowbray S.J., meets every Monday afternoon at 3pm in the Sacristy. New members welcome to attend.

Our weekly Parent and Child Coffee Mornings continues to take place on Friday mornings in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 10.30 am. All welcome to attend. Please note that due to preparation required for the official opening of the Parish Pastoral Centre on Sunday 11th there will not be a meeting of the Parent and Child group on Friday May 9th

A Meeting for Ministers of the Word will take place on Monday April, 28th at 7.30pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre. Potential readers are also invited to attend.

At 8pm on Monday night, April 28th, the Parish Baptism Team will meet with parents of children who will be baptised in May.

The Children’s choir will take part in the 10am this Sunday morning. Practise commences at 9am in the Parish Centre. New members are welcome to join this choir.

The Milltown Parish Local History Society have organised a Photographic Exhibition of Milltown Old and New’. This exhibition is on display in the Parish Pastoral Centre until May 7th 2008. The History Society would be very grateful for a loan of any old Milltown photographs to add to this display. All photographs will be returned to owners at end of exhibition. Yoga Classes have recommenced in the Parish pastoral Centre on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm. For further details ring Helen Hughes at 2156400 / 08704189140 or call to the Parish Centre on Wednesday next. This course is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Details of the proposed Parish Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela are available in the Parish Office and on the parish notice boards. A number of parishioners have already expressed interest in this journey.

We are happy to announce that President Mary Mc Aleese and our Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will both be with us for the 5.30 pm Mass on Pentecost Sunday (May 11th) . This is on the occasion of the official blessing and opening of our new Parish Pastoral Centre which will take place immediately after the Mass. Afterwards there will be a reception for parishioners and guests.

We wish to thank you for last weekend’s Offertory Collection which amounted to €1098 and the Share Collection which amounted to €1195.

We thank those of you who have sent in your Easter Offerings. We are grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Acknowledgements will be sent out in due course.

N.B. Additional Car Parking : Some 40 car parking spaces are now available at the underground car park to the rear Maple Hall. Access is through the entrance between Maple Hall and Broc House. It is open during Saturday and Sunday masses. We invite parishioners to avail of this convenient and accessible facility.

The Bethany Group will have their monthly support meeting in the Parish Centre on Thursday next, April 24th at 7.30pm. All those who have suffered loss of any kind are welcome to attend this meeting which will be for one hour’s duration. Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to attend training to become a minister in the Parish’s Bethany Bereavement Support Group.

Parish Social Justice Group Report. You will be will be aware that the parish has decided to embark on a twinning project as part of our Social Justice efforts. Parishioners have been invited to make proposals for a suitable twining project. The parish Social Justice group is very pleased to report that it has received a total of 13 different twinning proposals. This cover a wide variety of social justice needs in a variety of locations, and reflects we believe a parish with strong social justice awareness. We wish to thank all those who were moved by the appeal to make their submissions. The social justice group is now working on the review of these. All proposes have been written to, and it is hoped to make continuous progress over the coming weeks towards arriving at a selected twinning project for the parish. We will report back to parishioners when the review and selection process is completed.

Accord, the Catholic Marriage Care Service urgently needs men and women to deliver their Marriage preparation Courses. Perhaps you are interested or know someone who might be suitable for this work. Further details are on the Parish notice boards.

First of the Summer Wine , there will be a Wine Tasting evening in the Parish Centre at 8pm on Friday next April 25th. Please contact the Parish Office (2196740) if you wish to book a table. The cost per person is €10. The tasting will be conducted by Redmond’s of Ranelagh.

‘Year of Vocation’ is launched this Sunday by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin in the Pro Cathedral at 6.30pm. All welcome to attend.

We ask parishioners to return their Trocaire boxes to the parish as soon as possible.

The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group has commenced a series of ‘Gentle Activity to Music’ classes. The next session will take place on Tuesday next, April 15th, in the Parish Centre at 2.30pm.. There is no charge for this class and members are welcome to attend.

A Memorial Service for Parents whose babies have died within the last year, before or around the time of birth will be held in the Church of Our Lady of Dolores, Dolphin’s Barn on Sunday April 13th at 3pm.

We ask parishioners to return their Trocaire boxes to the parish as soon as possible.

On Monday, March 31st we celebrate the Annunciation of the Lord. This date was transferred from Tuesday March 25th this year.

On Monday night, at 8pm, the Baptism Team will meet with parents of children who will be baptised on Saturday next, April 5th.

The Milltown Parish Active Retirement group have commenced a series of ‘Gentle Activity to Music’ classes. These will continue in the Parish Centre on Tuesday March 3rd at 2.30pm. Jim Gorman, Physical Activity Officer with the Health Promotion Unit of HSE will be leading this activity. There is no charge for this class and all are welcome to attend.

The parish Liturgy Group will meet in the Parish Centre at Wednesday evening at 7.30pm.

Friday next, April 4th is the First Friday of the month. Please let the sacristans know of any parishioners who may wish to have Holy Communion brought to them on that day.

A half day Interior Design course will take place in the Parish Centre on Saturday next, April 5th. Contact Clare at 087 2843521 for further details of this course.

We remind you of the hospitality available at the Parish Centre for parishioners each weekday morning and after Sunday morning Masses. We invite you to join us for a cup of coffee/tea after Mass.
