We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,395 and the Share Collection which amounted to €1059.

Mission Sunday
This Sunday, October 24th is Mission Sunday. The Share collection on this day will be replaced by a special collection for the Missions. The money raised by the Universal Church on Mission Sunday is made available, in its entirety, to the poorest and neediest missions.

Altar List of the Dead
Traditionally in November, when each year we pray for our dead, Churches enrol the names of your family, relatives and friends who have departed this life on an annual ‘Altar List of the Dead’. There are envelopes available on the tables beside the entrance doors to the church if you wish to complete your Altar List of the Dead and return them to the church.

We wish to remind parishioners that the Parish Pastoral Centre is open for Tea/Coffee every weekday and Sunday morning. Do drop in to meet some of your fellow parishioners.

Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group
is visiting Kilmainham Jail on Tuesday October 26th. If you wish to join this tour please meet with the group at 11am at Kilmainham jail. Cost of visit is €4.

We wish to remind parishioners that there is a Parish Library located in the Parish Pastoral Centre. It has a reasonable range of religious books which are available to borrow

Marriage and relationship Counselling
“ACCORD offers a safe, professional and confidential process facilitating couples and individuals to explore, reflect upon and resolve difficulties in their marriage & relationship. We are a non-profit organisation and, while we ask our clients to make a donation if circumstances allow them, nobody is refused counselling due to a lack of money.

Journey into Hope
To mark Mission month, 3 evenings of prayerful reflection will take place in Rathmines church on 18th-20th Oct.
Each evening will run from 7.30 pm-8.30pm, and the talks will take place in the church in a context of gentle reflection, music and prayer. All welcome.

Biblical Drama and Drama Workshop at Holy Redeemer Bray:

B.E. – Beginning Experience:

Ruth from ‘Kitchen Greenie’ will be holding a one hour demonstration on how to encourage you and your children eat more greens, have more energy, sleep better and feel more alive. This demonstration will take place at 6.30pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Tuesday November 2nd. Cost €5 per person

The Milltown Guild of the I.C.A. will continue their ‘Thursday Craft Morning’ at 10am in the Parish Pastoral Centre. This gathering will provide an opportunity for craft workers to share their creative talents. The Crochet Group will also meet at this time.

The annual November Mass for parishioners who died during the last year will take place on November 6th at the 6pm Saturday evening Mass. We invite the bereaved and their families to refreshments in the Parish Pastoral Centre after Mass.

COMMUNION IN THE HOME
We invite parishioners to inform the priests if any members of their families or neighbours who may be housebound and would wish the Eucharist to be taken to them periodically.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Takes place in the parish church between 10.30 and 11.30am on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday morning.

We wish to remind parents that an Adult & Toddler Group meets in the Parish Pastoral centre at 10.30am on Friday mornings

We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,305 and the Share Collection which amounted to €967.

We greatly appreciate parishioners’ most generous contributions to last weekend’s outdoor collection for the Parish Pastoral Centre which amounted to €1,565.

Enrolment for the First Holy Communion “Do This in Memory of Me” programme will take place at the 10am Mass on this Sunday October 17th .

The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group has recommenced their ‘Gentle Activity to Music’ exercise programme with Valerie Mc. Coy as instructor. New members are welcome to join this class which will continue at 10.30am on this Tuesday October 19th. Participation in the remaining 3 classes will cost €15.

The Milltown Guild of the I.C.A. will continue their ‘Thursday Craft Morning’ at 10am in the Parish Pastoral Centre. This gathering will provide an opportunity for craft workers to share their creative talents. The Crochet Group will also meet at this time.

The Friday morning Irish Conversation Class has recommenced. All levels of Irish are catered for and new members are welcome to attend this informal gathering.

The Milltown Parish Book Club will meet in the Parish pastoral centre at 10.30am on this Wednesday. New members are welcome to join this group.

The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group are now taking names of those who wish to join with them on their visit to Kilmainham Jail on Tuesday October 26th . Please leave your name in the Parish Pastoral Centre if you are interested in joining this outing. Further details of this visit will be available during the coming week.

We wish to thank all who helped with our first Parish Fun Day which was an outstanding success. Approximately 400 adults and children attended the function.
Perhaps this community day could become an annual event!

There will be an outdoor collection for the Parish Pastoral Centre after all Masses this weekend. We ask you to support this annual collection for the Parish Pastoral Centre which facilitates numerous parish events and also contributes to the Parish Finances.

The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group has recommenced their ‘Gentle Activity to Music’ exercise programme with Valerie Mc. Coy as instructor. New members are welcome to join this class which will continue at 10.30am on Tuesday October 19th. The remaining 4 classes will cost €20.

On Wednesday next a group of our parishioners are commencing their 10 day Pilgrimage to the Holy Land. We wish them well on this Pilgrimage and ask them to remember us in their prayers.

The Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Sunday Nov. 28th. The date of the preparation meeting for this event has been changed to 6.30pm on TUESDAY October 12th. If you would like to participate in the organisation of this event please come along to this meeting.

MILLTOWN PARISH FUN DAY SUNDAY 3rd OCTOBER

ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THIS PARISH FUN DAY WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE TODAY BETWEEN 12 – 4PM.


‘Day For Life’ is today, October 3rd.This is the day that the Catholic Church in Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales dedicates to celebrating the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. This year its theme is the meaning of Christian death and care for those who are dying. The Irish Catholic Bishop’s Conference have published a brochure on this day, copies of which are available on the tables at the back of the church.

We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,444 and the Share Collection which amounted to €1,039.

There will be an outdoor collection for the Parish Pastoral Centre after all Masses next weekend Oct. 9th & 10th. We ask you to support this annual collection for the Pastoral Centre which facilitates numerous parish events and also contributes to the Parish Finances.

The Parish Prayer Group reconvenes on Monday afternoon, October 4th , in the Sacristy at 3pm. It is guided by Fr. Alan. All welcome to attend.

The Milltown Parish Bethany Group will have their monthly support meeting in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 7.30pm on Monday evening, October 4th. All those who have suffered loss of any kind are welcome to attend this meeting which will be for one hour’s duration.

The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group has recommenced their ‘Gentle Activity to Music’ exercise programme with Valerie Mc. Coy as instructor. New members are welcome to join this class which will continue at 10.30am on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month. The 6 classes will cost €30.

Please contact Jo O’Connell at 6603743 if you would like to attend a Meditative Dance session in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Tuesday October 5th at 2-3pm.

Members of the Milltown Guild of the I.C.A. are reminded that their monthly meeting will take place at 7.30pm on next Thursday October 7th. New members are welcome to join this guild.

All Ministers of the Word are invited to attend a meeting in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 8pm on Thursday next October 7th.

The Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Sunday Nov. 28th. A preparation meeting for this event will take place at 8pm on Thursday, October 14th. If you would like to participate in the organisation of this event please come along to the meeting on Thursday .
