APRIL 24th & 25th, 2010 – 4th Sunday of Easter


We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,207 and the Share Collection which amounted to €1029.

We offer our condolences to the family and friends of the late Joan Beattie whose funeral took place in our parish church last week.

We wish to remind parishioners to return their Trocaire boxes to the Sacristy or Parish Office.

A meeting of the Parish Liturgy Group will take place at 8pm on next Thursday, April 29th.

There are Easter, Confirmation and First Holy Communion cards for sale in the Parish Centre.

Letters acknowledging financial contributions to the Parish in 2009 have been posted out. Please contact the Parish office if you do not receive your acknowledgment. We thank you for this financial support and also thank parishioners who have handed in their Easter Dues.

Please let one of the Priests, Sacristans or Parish Office know of any parishioners who may wish to receive Holy Communion in their home.

The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group has arranged a guided tour to Glasnevin Cemetery on Wednesday next April 28th. The tour takes one and a half hours. Please meet at the main entrance to the cemetery at 3pm. Further details are on the Parish notice boards.

Details of a Spring Concert which will be held in Sandford Parish Church on Thursday next at 7.30pm is on the Church Notice Board. Admission to this concert is free. The proceeds of a collection which will take place at the concert will be donated to the Dublin Simon Community.

We wish to remind parishioners that the Parish Pastoral Centre is open for Tea/Coffee every weekday and Sunday morning. Do drop in to meet some of your fellow parishioners.

Details of the Dublin Diocesan Young Adult Pilgrimage to Taize (July 11–18) are on the Church notice boards. Please contact the Parish Office if you are interesting in travelling with this group. The Parish is offering financial assistance to a parishioner who wishes to participate in this Diocesan Pilgrimage.

The Parish Library, which is located in the Parish Pastoral Centre, is now open from 10am to 1pm on weekday mornings and also on Sunday mornings. Other times on request.

The Adult and Toddler group continue to meet in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 10.30am, on Fri. mornings.

The organisers of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul’s Sunshine Fund from would like to thank the parishioners of Milltown for the generous contribution of €1593.51 to their annual Palm Sunday collection.

We wish to remind parishioners to return their Trocaire boxes to the Sacristy or Parish Office.

This weekend there will be an outdoor collection for the Suas Volunteer Programme. Suas volunteers will be helping in community run projects in India and Kenya this summer.

The Milltown Branch of the I.C.A. has invited Garda Olwyn Murphy from Terenure Garda Station to speak on ‘Personal Safety and Safety in the Home’. This talk will take place in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 7.30 pm on next Monday, April 19th. All are welcome to attend.

The Milltown Parish Book Club will have their April meeting on next Wednesday , April 21st, at 10.30 am in the Parish Pastoral Centre. This group meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

APRIL 10th & 11th 2010 – Divine Mercy Sunday - 2nd Sunday of Easter


We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,317 and the Share Collection which amounted to €1012.

Jack Bergin was baptised in our church this weekend. We welcome him into our Christian community and congratulate his parents.

Milltown Parish’s Historical Society has invited Hugh Lynch to present a talk on the “Irish Sailors and Soldiers Land Trust”. This trust constructed the ‘soldier houses’ on Lower Churchtown Rd. The talk will take place at 8pm on April 12th in the Parish Pastoral Centre.

The A.G.M. of the Clonskeagh Residents Association will take place in Milltown Parish’s Pastoral Centre at 8 pm on Thursday next, April 15th.

We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,329 and the Share Collection which amounted to €893.

Henry Mc. Cafferty and Alexandra Brophy will be baptised in our church during this Easter weekend. We welcome them into our Christian community and congratulate their parents.

On Tuesday next, April 6th, the Parish Baptism Preparation Team will meet with parents of children who will be baptised on Saturday April 10th.

We offer our condolences to the family of the late Kathleen Hogan whose funeral took place in our parish church last week.

The Parish’s Active Retirement Group will recommence their ‘Gentle Activity to Music’ session in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Tuesday morning next, April 6th at 10.30am.
