We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,194 and the Accord Collection which amounted to €1,923.

‘Mary through the Ages’ is the title of the first talk in our Lenten Programme. This talk will take place on Monday evening at 8pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre. The series will continue on the following 5 Monday evenings.

During Lent there will be an evening Mass in our church at 6pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in our Parish Church for one hour after the 10 am Mass on Monday, Tuesday, Friday (during Lent) and Saturday morning.

An ‘Hour of Prayer and Reflection’ will take place at 8pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Thursday evenings during Lent. This series will commence on next Thursday, February 25th. The theme of these evenings will be the Return of the Prodigal Son.

We offer our condolences to the family and friends of Walter Harvey (Chairman of the Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group) whose funeral Mass took place in the Parish Church on Saturday. May he rest in peace.

We urgently require Ministers of the Eucharist and Ministers of the Word. Please call into the sacristy after Mass if you are interested in becoming involved in either of these ministries.

The Bethany Bereavement Support Group have organised a Residential Weekend in Orlagh College on February 26th/27th & 28th. This weekend will be lead by Fr. Myles O’Reilly S.J. Further details of this Residential Weekend are on the Parish Notice Boards.

Sandymount Parish has arranged a Pilgrimage to Jordan and the Holy Land in May. They have a few places left and would warmly welcome parishioners from neighboring parishes to join them. Details of this Pilgrimage are on our church notice boards.

Details of the Dublin Diocesan Young Adult Pilgrimage to Taize (July 11–18) are on the Church notice boards. Please contact the Parish Office if you are interesting in travelling with this group. The Parish is offering financial assistance to a parishioner who wishes to participate in this Diocesan Pilgrimage.

The Parish Library, which is located in the Parish Pastoral Centre, is now open from 10am to 1pm on weekday mornings and also on Sunday mornings. Other times available on request.

A Callanetics Class (exercise based on ballet and yoga) continues on Thur. evening at 8pm in the Parish Centre. For further details please contact Harriet at 087-9242438.

The Adult and Toddler group continue to meet in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 10.30am, on Fri. mornings.

An Irish Conversation Class takes place each Friday morning at 10.30am in the Parish Centre. New members are welcome to attend this informal gathering. All levels of Irish are catered for.
Please let one of the Priests, Sacristans or Parish Office know of any parishioners who may wish to receive Holy Communion in their home.

Saturday & Sunday, February 7th & 8tht, 2010 – Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time


We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,372 and the Share Collection of €956.

There will be a special diocesan collection for the reconstruction of Haiti at all masses this weekend. This will replace the regular Share collection.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will preside in a Mass of Healing and Anointing of the Sick in the Church of the Good Shepard, Churchtown at 3pm on Sunday, February 7th. All are welcome.

The Milltown Branch of the I.C.A. will meet at 7.30pm on Monday next, February the 8th, in the Parish Pastoral Centre. This meeting will plan the activities for the coming year. New members are welcome to attend.

The 10am Mass on Thursday next February 11th is in honour of the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

The A.G. M. of the Milltown Parish Active Retirement will take place on next Tuesday, February 9th at 2pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre. New members welcome.

Milltown Parish Pastoral Council will meet at 8pm on next Thursday night, February 11th.

Clonskeagh Residents Association has invited Eanna Ni Lamhna to our Parish Pastoral Centre on Thursday night, February 11th. She will give a presentation at 8pm on ‘Go wild in the Garden’. All are welcome to attend this evening.

The annual collection for Accord (the Catholic Marriage Counselling Service) will take place at all Masses next weekend.

Dr. P.J. Greene will give a talk on Complementary Medicine in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 7.45pm on Monday week, February 15th.
