Saturday, Nov. 29th & 30th November, First Sunday of Advent

•We wish to thank you for last weekend’s collections. The Offertory Collection amounted to €1460 and the Share collection which amounted to €976.

•Friday next, December 5th, is the First Friday of the month. Please let the sacristans know of any parishioners who may wish to have Holy Communion brought to them on that day.

•Additional Ministers of the Word and Ministers of the Eucharist are required for Saturday and Sunday evening Masses. Please contact the Parish Office if you are interested in becoming involved in either of these ministries.

•We wish to draw your attention to the new selection of Advent Books for sale on the church book stand. There are books and booklets both suitable for adults and children.

Catholic Youth Care wish to acknowledge with thanks the donation of €4,343 received from the Parish of Milltown in support of their annual appeal.

•If for health reasons you cannot receive the Eucharistic Host, you are welcome to come to the altar with the Eucharistic Ministers and receive the Chalice.

•The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group will have their “Gentle activity to Music” session in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 10.30am on Tuesday, December 2nd.

•The Annual Christmas Dinner of the Parish’s Active Retirement Group will take place at 8pm on Saturday next, December 6th in The Castle Golf Club, Rathfarnham. The cost is €35 and bookings can be made in the Parish Centre.

•There are some copies of the Milltown Chamber Choir Christmas C.D. and Christmas card available for sale on the book rack and in the Parish Office.

•The Annual Christmas Celebration of Light for those bereaved through suicide will take place at 4pm on Sunday, November 30th in St. Patrick’s College Maynooth.

‘LIFE AFTER LOSS’
Christy Kenneally, Broadcaster and author, will give a talk on ‘Life after Loss’ on this Monday evening, Nov. 24th at 8pm. This talk will take place in the Parish Church. All welcome to attend.

We wish to thank you for last weekend’s collections. The Offertory Collection amounted to €1356 and the Share collection which amounted to €913.

•There are forms and envelopes available at the back of the church if you wish to place the names of your deceased family members, relatives and friends, on the annual “Altar Lists of the Dead”.
The 10am Mass on the First Friday of each month is dedicated to those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.

•The Parish Pastoral Council will have their November meeting in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Tuesday next, November 25th at 7.30pm.

·We wish to thank you for last weekend’s collections. The Offertory Collection amounted to €1368 and the CYC amounted to €4,343.

·There are forms and envelopes available at the back of the church if you wish to place the names of your deceased family members, relatives and friends, on the annual “Altar Lists of the Dead”. The 10am Mass on the First Friday of each month is dedicated to those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.

·The association for the ‘Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind’ wish to thank parishioners for their generous contributions to their annual Milltown Parish church gate collection. The collection amounted to €837.39.

·At 3pm, this Sunday, Nov. 16th, there will be a Memorial Mass here in Milltown for deceased members of the Radharc team. Our bust of Blessed John XX111 is dedicated to the memory of Fr. Joe Dunne who was associated with Radharc. Parishioners are invited to attend.

The Dedication of the Lateran Basilica


·We wish to thank you for last weekend’s collections. The Offertory Collection amounted to €1297 and the Share Collection amounted to €932. The Offertory Collection on All Saints Day amounted to €331 and the Share Collection amounted to €224.
·There are forms and envelopes available at the back of the church if you wish to place the names of your deceased family members, relatives and friends, on the annual “Altar Lists of the Dead”. The 10am Mass on the First Friday of each month is dedicated to those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.

·Catholic Youth Care is the Dublin Diocesan Youth Service. Their annual collection will replace the Share collection at all Masses this weekend. CYC is committed to working with the most marginalised and deprived young people in the Diocese.

·The Pontifical Missions Society wish to thank the parishioners of Milltown for their contribution of €2725 to the 2008 Mission Sunday Collection.

·If for health reasons you cannot receive the Eucharistic Host, you are welcome to come to the altar at the same time as the Eucharistic Ministers and receive the Chalice.

·There will be an illustrated talk on Arthritis in the Parish Centre at 2.30pm on Tues. Nov. 11th. Grainne O’Leary from the Arthritis Association of Ireland will give this talk.

·We wish to thank you for last weekend’s collections. The Offertory Collection amounted to €1,059, and the Mission Sunday Collection amounted to €2725.

·Summer time officially ends this Saturday. Clocks goes back by one hour

·As this Monday, October 27th, is a Bank Holiday, Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon. Please note that due to the route of the Dublin City Marathon there will be restricted car access to the church on Monday.

·If you wish to have the names of your family relatives and friends who have departed this life, on the annual “Altar Lists of the Dead” are available at the back of the church.

·The 5.30pm on Sunday next, November 2nd (All Souls Day) will be a memorial Mass for all of those who have died in the last year. If you would like to have your departed relatives or friends remembered at this Mass, please leave their names in the sacristy. We ask that those who wish to join the choir for this Mass come to the Church at 5pm

·The Children’s Choir requires some new members. It is our intention to re-launch the Family Mass where our Children’s choir will participate. Please contact the Parish Office if your family wish to be involved in the Children’s Choir or Family Mass.

·The Milltown Parish Art Group has re-commenced their weekly Tuesday evening meetings. This group meet each Tuesday at 7.30pm and new members welcome.

·Next weekend, November 1st & 2nd, there will be an outdoor collection for the ‘Irish Guide Dogs for Blind’ association.
