Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time


·We wish to thank you for last weekend’s Offertory Collection which amounted to €1206 & the Share Collection which amounted to €802.

·The forms for income tax remission in favour of the parish, the so called CHY2 forms, have been posted to parishioners who have donated over €250 to the parish in the 2007 tax year. We would be grateful if you would return these forms to the parish as soon as possible.

·Milltown Parish’s Flower Arrangers Guild requires new members. If you are interested in becoming a member of this ministry perhaps you could contact the Parish Centre.

·Boxes of Family Offering envelopes are available in the Parish Centre. Please contact the Parish Office if you require replacement envelopes.

·Please note the Parish Pastoral Centre has received a new permanent telephone line. The new telephone number is 2680041. We apologise for any inconvenience caused due to the unreliability of the original temporary line that we were supplied with.

·In order to assist the day to day cost of maintaining the Parish Centre the charge for tea and coffee has been increased to €1.50. Biscuits are now available pre-wrapped for an additional charge of 50c. We look forward to your continued valued custom.

·Monday, August 3rd is a Bank Holiday. Mass on Monday will be at 12 noon.

Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time


·We wish to thank you for last weekend’s Offertory Collection which amounted to €1205 & the Share Collection which amounted to €799.

·A thank you letter, including a receipt for €1,130, was received from the Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes office. This contribution from the parishioners of Milltown will help fund 171 sick pilgrims on the September pilgrimage and 30 children on the Diocesan Children’s Pilgrimage.

·Acknowledgements for the Easter Dues have been posted to all who kindly contributed.

·The Milltown Active Retirement Group invites parishioners to free afternoon tea in the Parish Centre on next Thursday afternoon, July 17, at 3pm. All are welcome.

·Our weekly Parent and Child Coffee Mornings continues to take place on Friday mornings in the Parish Centre at 10.30 am. All welcome to attend.

·Next week preparations for Catholic World Youth Day officially begin in Sydney Australia. Pope Benedict will be arriving there during the coming week to preside over the celebrations on Saturday and Sunday next. A representative of our parish, Marian O’Gorman is attending this world event. We might remember to pray for its success.

·Planning for the Parish Social Justice Group’s twinning project is progressing. A good deal of information on possible options in this regard has to be gathered before final decisions are taken. Research on this matter is ongoing and we will keep parishioners informed as this initiative comes closer to its final outcome.

· We wish to thank you for last weekend’s Offertory Collection which amounted to €1613 & the Annual Peter Pence Collection which amounted to €1650.

· Milltown Parish Local History Society has arranged a ‘Riverside Walk illustrating items of significant historical interest’ on Saturday July 12th at 11am. The walk should take about one hour. All welcome to attend.

· Milltown Parish’s Flower Arrangers Guild requires new members. If you are interested in becoming a member of this ministry perhaps you could contact the Parish Centre or attend a meeting with the existing members in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Monday July 7th at 10.30am.

· Our weekly Parent and Child Coffee Mornings continues to take place on Friday mornings in the Parish Centre at 10.30 am. All welcome to attend.

· Planning for the Parish Social Justice Group’s twinning project is progressing. A good deal of information on possible options in this regard has to be gathered before final decisions are taken. Research on this matter is ongoing and we will keep parishioners informed as this initiative comes closer to its final outcome.

· We draw your attention to the church bookrack, particularly to The Irish Catholic; the contents and quality of which have improved significantly in recent times.

· The Peters Pence collection will replace the Share collection this weekend. This collection helps the Pope, to carry out more effectively his mission of universal charity.

· The parish has received a letter from the Teresian School thanking parishioners for their contributions to the church gate collection which took place during the weekend of the 26th / 27th April. The students collected €2047, all of which will be put to direct use at their project in Villa el Salvador during this summer.
