Weekly Bulletin 5th & 6th December

Parish of Saints Columbanus and Gall - Weekly Bulletin
Saturday & Sunday, December 5th & 6th, 2009 - Second Sunday of Advent

We thank you for last weeks Offertory Collection, and the Share Collection.

Next Tuesday is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Vigil Mass will be on Monday evening at 6pm. Masses on Tuesday will be at 10am, 11.30am & 6pm.

The annual Dublin Diocesan Collection for the St. Vincent De Paul Society will replace the Share Collection at all Masses next weekend.

Many thanks to all parishioners who supported the extremely successful Christmas Art & Craft Fair which was held last Sunday. A very special word of thanks is due to the many people who gave so much of their time and talents to this event. The €2,500 collected at the Art & Craft Fair will be used to purchase some audio visual equipment for the Parish Centre and to offset some of the Centre’s day to day operating costs. Perhaps this Fair will become an annual event!

Floral Demonstration Evening - 7.30pm, Thursday, December 10th.
The entrance fee, (which includes a glass of wine and a mince pie!) is €3 for I.C.A. members and €8 for visitors. All items demonstrated will be included in a free raffle on the night.

A presentation to Joan Cooper will take place after the 11.30am Mass on next Sunday, December 13th. This presentation is a token of our appreciation of her work as Sacristan in Milltown Parish for a great number of years.

The Irish Catholic Bishop’s Conference has issued a booklet called ‘The Cry of the Earth’. It is a Pastoral Reflection on Climate Change. Copies of this publication are available on the book rack.

Copies of ‘Walk with Me, a Journey of Prayer for Advent and Christmastide’ are for sale on the Book Rack. They cost €1.30 each.

During this time of Swine Flu infection it is recommended by the dioceses that people who receive the Eucharist on their tongue would perhaps receive by hand.

Advent Reflection Evening - 8pm, Monday, December 14th
In the midst of this pre Christmas hype, and all that goes with it, this evening will allows us to reflect on the heart of what we are preparing for and in some way open our hearts more for the great Christmas event.

Milltown Parish Christmas Cards
are available on the Church Book rack and in the Parish Office.
A pack of 10 cards costs €6.
A sample of this card is on the Church Notice Boards.
