The Baptism of the Lord.
We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,160, and the Share Collection of €948. We also wish to thank those who have donated Christmas dues.
Today’s 11.30am Mass today is dedicated to children who were baptised here during the last year. Their families have received invitations to attend this community celebration.
Jessica O’Sullivan and Grace Connolly were recently baptised in our church. We welcome them into our Christian Community and congratulate their parents.
The next meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council has been changed and will take place at 7.45pm on Tuesday week, January 19th.
Spanish Classes will commence in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 10.30am on next Monday January 11th .This course of 10 weeks costs €150.
The Milltown Branch of the I.C. A. will meet in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 7.30pm on next Monday evening, January 11th.
Please note that the date for the A.G.M. of the Parish Active Retirement Group has been changed from Tuesday, January 12th to Tuesday February 9th at 2pm in the Parish Centre.
Christian Unity Week commences on Sunday January 17th. To celebrate this church event, the Revd. Sonia Gyles, Fr. Bernard Kennedy and Fr. Gerard Deegan invite you to attend an Ecumenical Service here in Milltown Parish Church at 3pm on Sunday, 17th January. The theme of the service will be: ‘You will be my witness’ (Luke 24:48) and the preacher is Rev. Sonia Gyles. The service will be followed by refreshments in the Parish Pastoral Centre.
The Parish Prayer Group, which is guided by Fr. Alan Mowbray S.J., will reconvene in the Sacristy at 3pm on Monday, January 18th.
Peter Dunne, ( a brother of the late Fr. Joe Dunne who produces the Radharc Films) has kindly agreed to show some of the Radharc Films in our Parish Pastoral Centre at 7.30pm on Monday 18th January. All are welcome to attend.
The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Association has invited a solicitor to the Parish Pastoral Centre in the afternoon of Tuesday January 19th. The solicitor will talk on ‘Fair Deal for Nursing Homes’ and on ‘Making a Will’.
The Parish Library will be officially opened after the 11.30am Mass on Sunday next, Jan.17th.
We invite those who have been, or perhaps think they may be affected by unemployment in the future, to come along to the Parish Pastoral Centre at 7.30 pm on Monday January 25th. On that evening we have invited representatives from F.A.S., Citizens Information, MABS, Southside Community Training Network, Southside Partnership Enterprise Section, County Enterprise Board, Local Employment Support, Volunteer Centre, and the Vocational Education Committee to participate in an information evening. We plan to have these representatives located at separate tables in our conference room where people can speak to them on an individual basis.
The Adult and Toddler group continue to meet in the Parish Centre at 10.30am, on Fri. mornings.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in our Parish for one hour after the 10 am Mass on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday morning.
Please let one of the Priests, Sacristans or Parish Office know of any parishioners who may wish to receive Holy Communion in their home.
A Callanetics Class (exercise based on ballet and yoga) has commenced on Thur. evening at 8pm in the Parish Centre. For further details please contact Harriet at 087-9242438.
An Irish Conversation Class takes place each Friday morning at 10.30am in the Parish Centre. New members are welcome to attend this informal gathering. All levels of Irish are catered for.
