Milltown Parish Lenten Talks 2008. The 4th talk in this programme will take place on Monday, 3rd March at 8pm in the Parish Centre. Eamonn Ryan, Minister for Energy and Communications will speak on “Care of our Planet: A Moral Issue”. Details of the Lenten Talks are available on the church notice boards and on the parish website.

Baptisms: We welcome Finn O’Reilly, Tadgh Burke and Tom Reynolds into our local Christian community and congratulate their parents.

We extend our sympathy to the family of the late May O’Dowd (nee Brennan) who died on Tuesday last. May lived for many years in The Colonade on Milltown Road. May she rest in peace.

The Milltown Parish Children’s Choir will sing at 10am mass this Sunday March 2nd.
This group welcomes new members. For more information contact the Parish Office.

Friday next, March 7th is the First Friday of the month. Please let the sacristans know of any parishioners who may wish to have Holy Communion brought to them on that day.

There will be a day retreat in preparation for Easter on Sunday March 9th in the Jesuit Retreat Centre in Milltown Park. Further details are on the parish notice boards.

There are Trocaire boxes available at the back of the church. Please take one on your way out.

The Milltown Parish Active Retirement group have arranged a series of ‘Gentle Activity to Music’ classes. These will commence in the Parish Centre on Tuesday March 3rd at 2.30pm. Jim Gorman, Physical Activity Officer with the Health Promotion Unit of HSE will be leading this activity. There is no charge for this class and all are welcome to attend.

Our weekly Parent and Child Coffee Mornings continues to take place on Friday mornings in the Parish Centre at 10.30 am.

The Dublin Diocesan Annual Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from September 7th to September 12th. Please contact the Parish Office if you wish to join the Diocesan pilgrimage with a group from this Parish. Application forms for sick pilgrims are available from the Secretary, Lourdes Pilgrimage office, Holy Cross College, Clonliffe road, Dublin 3. There is a special reduced fare for this section of the Pilgrimage.

We wish to thank you for last weekend’s Offertory Collection which amounted to €1311 and the Share Collection which amounted to €874.

We thank those of you who have sent in your Christmas Offerings. We are grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Acknowledgements will be sent out in due course.
