We wish to thank all who helped with the organisation of our Liturgy and hospitality at last weekend’s official opening of the Parish Pastoral Centre. A great day was had by all!
This Saturday morning, 25 girls from Alexandra College received their first Holy Communion here in our parish church.
Our weekly Parent and Child Coffee Mornings will not be held on Friday next, May 23rd, as the parents and families of the confirmation girls from Alexandra College are invited into the Parish Pastoral Centre for refreshments directly after the ceremony. There will be no 10am Mass on Confirmation day.
A Parish Prayer Group, guided by Fr. Alan Mowbray S.J., meets every Monday afternoon at 3pm in the Sacristy. New members welcome to attend.
Catholic Youth Care, the Catholic youth organisation has written to the Parish Pastoral Council telling us about their Active Citizenship Project which encourages youth groups to take on a positive role in their local communities.
The Parish Pastoral Council has endorsed and affirmed the aims of this project, and confirms that it is ready to support such local youth groups.
Through it we are trying to encourage young people and youth groups to become involved in a positive way in the life of the community. The projects are normally decided on by the youth group and be led by the young people themselves. Projects can be on any topic, and should normally contributes to the youth group becoming involved in the community and that the young people involved learn something about what It means being an active citizen in our society. A Diocesan Eucharistic Procession, led by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, will take place in Clonliffe College on Thursday may 22nd at 7.30pm.
Islands- Irish Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Society extend a warm invitation to all bereaved parents, families and friends, to join us to remember their children in a special way at Islands Blessing of Remembrance in Glasnevin Cemetery, 25th May 2008 at 3pm.
We wish to thank you for last weekend’s Offertory Collection which amounted to €1650 and the Share Collection which amounted to €1101.
We thank those of you who have sent in your Easter Offerings. We are grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Acknowledgements will be sent out in due course.
St. Michael’s House, Goatstown will be having an outdoor collection following all Masses this weekend.
Next weekend, there will be an outdoor collection for the Holy Rosary Missionaries, (Killeshandra Sisters). The sisters work in Africa, Central and South America and with refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland.
On Monday night, May 26th the European Movement Ireland will host an information evening on the forthcomming referendum on the Lisbon Treaty .All are invited to attend. This information session will commence at 7.30 in the Parish Pastoral Centre.
Yoga Classes have recommenced in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm. For further details ring Helen Hughes at 2156400 / 08704189140 or call to the Parish Centre on Wednesday .This course is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
