Sunday, June 7th & 8th, 2008 – 10th Sunday in Ordinary Time


·The Share collection at all Masses this weekend will be replaced by a collection for the support of Dublin diocesan students preparing for Ordination to the Priesthood. Your support is very much appreciated.

·A Parish Prayer Group, guided by Fr. Alan Mowbray S.J., meets every Monday afternoon at 3pm in the Sacristy. New members welcome to attend

·Our weekly Parent and Child Coffee Mornings continues to take place on Friday mornings in the Parish Centre at 10.30 am. All welcome to attend.

·The 11.30am mass on Sunday next, June 15th will mark the Golden Jubilee of the Ordination of Mgr. Tom Stack and his retirement as parish priest of Milltown. Bishop James Moriarty will be the main Celebrant of this Mass. Immediately afterwards a reception will take in the Parish Pastoral Centre. All are welcome to attend. The Parish Pastoral Council hopes to make a presentation to Fr. Tom on behalf of the parish. If you wish to wish to join in this gesture as a practical expression of your own appreciation of his work in the parish, you may do so through the Parish Office.

·Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group will visit Glendalough on June 25th. Booking can be made in the Parish Office. The cost of this outing is €20.

·A Catholic Youth Conference will be held in All Hallows College, Drumcondra on Saturday21st and Sunday 22nd June. Further details are on the Parish notice Boards.

·Catholic Youth Care, the Catholic youth organisation has written to the Parish Pastoral Council telling us about their Active Citizenship Project which encourages youth groups to take on a positive role in their local communities.
·The Parish Pastoral Council has endorsed and affirmed the aims of this project, and confirms that it is ready to support such local youth groups.
·Through it we are trying to encourage young people and youth groups to become involved in a positive way in the life of the community. The projects are normally decided on by the youth group and be led by the young people themselves. Projects can be on any topic, and should normally contribute to the youth group becoming involved in the community and that the young people involved learn something about what It means being an active citizen in our society. ·The Milltown Parish Active Retirement Group has commenced a series of ‘Gentle Activity to Music’ classes. The next session will take place on Tuesday next, June 10th, in the Parish Centre at 2.30pm.. There is no charge for this class and members of the Active Retirement Group are welcome to attend.

·Following all masses this weekend the Society of St. Vincent De Paul will be distributing collection bags for their Church Gate Annual Clothing Appeal. Please take one of the clear plastic bags home with you this weekend and return it to the church next weekend filled and ready for collection.
