Child Protection
Fr. Paddy Boyle, (Child Safeguarding and Protection Training and Development Co-coordinator for the Dublin Diocese) will address all parish volunteers/ministers in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 8pm on this Monday evening; Feb. 28th.Please contact the Parish Office if you are involved in a parish ministry and have not yet received your invitation. We would also greatly appreciate if volunteers could let us know if they are unable to attend.

We offer our condolences to the family and friends of the late Harry Harding whose Funeral Mass took place here during the last week.

We thank those of you who have already returned your Christmas Dues. Dues envelopes may be placed in the collection bags at Mass, given to one of the priests or handed into the Sacristy or the Office.

Aware Email Support Service: Volunteer Opportunity:
Aware, the national depression support organisation is seeking new volunteers for its email depression support service and will host an open evening on Tuesday March 1st, at its offices 72 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2 from 5.30 - 7.00 pm. Anyone who feels they may be interested in getting involved in this service or wants to find out more is welcome to attend. Application forms will be available at the drop-in open evening and volunteers for the service will be given full training. An understanding of depression and its impact is essential. On Tuesday evening next, March 1st, the Parish Baptism team will meet with parents of children who are to be baptised in our church during March.

The Afternoon Tea which was organised by the parish’s Active Retirement Group on Tuesday last was a great success. Sixty parishioners attended this social event which was visited by Lady Laverly who told of interesting times in her life! Congratulations and thanks to the people who organised this most enjoyable gathering.

The Milltown Branch of the I.C.A. will meet in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 7.30pm on this Thursday, March 3rd. New members welcome to attend

Next Friday, March 4th is the First Friday of the month. The 10am on the day will be offered for all who are recently deceased and those whose names are on the Parish Altar list of the Dead.

The Lassus Scholars and Piccolo Lasso Choir will sing at the 10am Mass on Sunday March 6th. This choir is directed by Ite O’Donovan

BROKEN FAITH:
A conference called “Re-visioning the Church in Ireland” will take place in the Milltown Institute from the 6th – 9th of April. This major conference will address how best the Church can continue to serve society and carry out its mission to the world in a way that contributes to the common good. DARKNESS INTO LIGHT 5 K EVENTS:

Walk to raise funds to control and cure arthritis: Arthritis Ireland’s sponsored walking challenge Get Your Joints in Motion will take place on May 7th. This is a walk for people with arthritis in aid of the ¾ of a million people with arthritis in Ireland. Canon Law Workshop:
Will be held from the 23rd to the 27th of May 2011 in Mater Dei, Clonliffe Road. Several themes in Canon Law will be explored. The Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes has an allocation of 170 places on the Special Section for the Sick this September.
