Parish Ministry Volunteering Days,
Saturday & Sunday,
September 15th & 16th
“It is necessary to improve pastoral structures in such a way that the co-responsibility of all the members of the people of God in their entirety is gradually promoted. This demands a change in mind-set, particularly concerning lay people. They must no longer be viewed as collaborator of the clergy but truly recognised as co-responsible for the Church's being and action, thereby fostering the consolidation of a mature and committed laity”. (Extract from Pastoral Convention, Diocese of Rome, 26th May 2009)
With this in mind, Milltown Parish will have two Ministry Volunteering Days next weekend. They will take place after Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses. Parishioners are invited into the Parish Pastoral Centre to meet with representatives from the existing ministries. These representatives will answer questions you may have regarding the ministry that you may be interested in joining.
A list of these ministries, which contains details of what the existing volunteers do, is available at the church doors.
We encourage parishioners to consider becoming involved in one of our ministries.
