WORLD YOUTH DAY is a celebration of young people and their Catholic faith. It brings together young people from all over the world to one place, to reflect on their faith. Each World Youth Day is celebrated in a different city, giving a chance to all young people to come together in faith. In 2011 it was held in Europe in Madrid. In 2013, it comes to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Each World Youth Day has a theme – a central unifying thought. For Rio it is “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Mt 28, 19). This is a theme that needs reflection and thought because it goes to the very heart of what it means to be a follower of Christ in the modern world. More information on this World Youth Day is available at: www.rio2013.com. The parish is willing to part sponsor a young person to attend this World Youth Day. Please contact Fr. Philip if you are interested in attending this global event.

Become a C.C. ! Some additional volunteers are required to help with the weekly cleaning of our church. Please contact me if you have an hour to give to this voluntary work which takes place on Thursday morning. This ministry is open to both men and women. Fr. Philip
