Weekly Bulletin 27th & 28th April


Thank you for the €1,246, which you donated to last Sunday’s collection for the Support of Priests of the Parish (& Dioceses) and for the Share Collection which amounted to €923.

Our condolences to the family and friends of the late Josie Higgins whose funeral Mass took place here during the last week.

Congratulations to Sandra Bruneau and John Loughman, who were married in our church last weekend.

Thank you to those who have already returned their Easter Dues. Dues envelopes may be placed in the collection bags at Mass, given to one of the priests or handed into the Sacristy or the Parish Office.

PARISH CENSUS:
commences this weekend. Please collect a Census Pack, (one for each household) and return your completed Census Form to the Parish. Returning a completed form will mean that a parish representative will not have to call to your home in the Autumn.

The Irish Cancer Society is having an outdoor collection at our parish this weekend. The society is dedicated to ensuring people with cancer, and their families, can receive the emotional care and the practical support they need to help them through one of the most difficult times they may have to face.

Your Trocaire Boxes may be returned to the Parish where they will be collected by Trocaire.

PARISH BAPTISM PREPARATION
A meeting for the parents and Godparents of children who are to be baptised here next weekend, will take place in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 8pm on Monday, April 29th.

PRAYER WITH SCRIPTURE:
this group have decided to have a weekly meeting until Pentecost. These meetings take place at 8pm on Tuesday evenings in the Parish Pastoral Centre. For further details please contact Sile at 2028263 after 7pm.

The Milltown Branch of the I.C.A. will meet at 7.30pm on Thursday, May 2nd in the Parish Pastoral Centre. New members welcome.

Next Friday, May 3rd is the First Friday of the month. The 10am Mass on the day will be offered for all who are recently deceased and those whose names are on the Parish Altar list of the Dead

Saint John Of God Hospital, Public Lectures Series 2013: Minding the Mind. The third lecture in this series will take place at 8pm on Monday, April 29th, in St. John of God Hospital Stillorgan. The title of this lecture is ‘Treating Marilyn – Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Emotional Disorders’’. Further details of this series of lectures are on the Parish Notice Boards.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD:
Avilla are hosting a two night training course for new Ministers of the Word. These two sessions will take place on Thursday, May 2nd and Thursday May 9th. Please contact Fr. Philip if you are interested in becoming a member of this Parish Ministry group.

Clonskeagh Parish has arranged a series of evenings called “Amazed and Afraid: The Revelation of God become Man”. The third evening in this series will take place in Clonskeagh Parish at 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 1st.The videos, which will be shown on these evenings, are presented by Fr. Robert Barron. A discussion will follow the screening.

As part of the Bealtaine Festival, ‘The Importance of Being Oscar’ will take place at 3pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Tuesday, May 7th. Admission is free and is on a first come first serve basis!

The Milltown Parish Adult & Toddler Group meets in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 10.30am on Friday morning.

Annual Novena in honour of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour will take place in Foxrock Parish from 20th – 29th May 2013.

DUBLIN DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES:
7th – 12th September
Application forms are available for any sick person who may wish to attend this pilgrimage. The sick pilgrims are accommodated in the Accueil Notre Dame which is situated close to the Grotto, and are cared for by voluntary doctors, nurses and helpers from all over the diocese. All applications are subject to consideration by the Pilgrimage Medical board.

AGE ACTION IRELAND: Are you 60+ years of age? Have you a small repair job which you would like to have done for you? The Care and Repair programme (run by Age Action Ireland) uses a pool of trustworthy volunteers and handypersons to carry out minor repairs for older people. All volunteers are vetted and carry official Care and Repair identification cards. The service is free; you only pay for the materials used. For your bigger jobs, we maintain a register of reliable and honest tradespersons. You can arrange to have a job done for you by phoning the Age Action Care and Repair number which is 01-4756989.
