May 15th & 16th 2010, – Ascension of the Lord - World Communications Day


We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,220 and the Share Collection which amounted to €878.

We have received a thank you note from the Holy Rosary Sisters who had a church gate collection last weekend. Your contributions amounted to €1,282.

Children who have received their First Holy Communion this year are invited, with their families,
into the Parish Pastoral Centre for refreshments after 10am on this Sunday morning.

We congratulate the girls from the Junior School Alexandra College who were confirmed in our church during the week.

We offer our condolences to the families of the late Maura Short, Doris Coady and Edward Tonge whose funerals took place in our church during the week.

An assembly for Ministers of the Eucharist and Ministers of the Word will take place at 8pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre on next Monday May 17th. All Ministers are invited to attend.

The parish requires additional Altar Servers. Please contact one of the priests if your child is interested in joining this ministry. Children must have received their First Holy communion before becoming an altar server.

For parishioners who wish to receive the Eucharist from the chalice only, please note that there will be a chalice placed on a table beside the lectern for your use at Communion time.

The Milltown Parish Book Club will meet at 10.30 am in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Wednesday next May, 19th.

A group of parishioners are making a booking to attend ‘A Celebration of Bill Whelan with the RTE Concert Orchestra’ which takes place in the National Concert hall on Friday August 27. Please contact the Parish Office if you wish to join with this group.

Parents of children receiving their First Holy Communion may be interested in a booklet called “My Child’s First Communion” which is available on the church bookrack.

The annual Diocesan Eucharistic Procession, led by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will take place in the grounds of Clonliffe College at 7.30pm on Thursday June 3rd. Please leave your name in the Parish Office if you would like to travel with a group from this parish who will be participating in this diocesan gathering.

The 11.30am Mass on Sunday June 6th will be offered for those who are sitting exams this summer. We would appreciate if you would invite any exam students you know to attend this liturgy.

The Parish Pastoral Council has proposed a Parish Open Day to be held on a Sunday in September . If you are interested in helping to organise this event please contact Grace (086, 8354484) or Threase (087, 7658424).

A Milltown Parish Pilgrimage to the Holy Land will take place from October 13th – October 22nd. Flight will go direct from Dublin. Further details of this Pilgrimage are on the Parish Notice Boards. If you are interested in this visit to the Holy land please call:

Please contact the parish office if you know of any parishioner who is housebound and would like to receive Holy Communion in their home.

We wish to remind parishioners that the Parish Pastoral Centre is open for Tea/Coffee every weekday and Sunday morning. Do drop in to meet some of your fellow parishioners.

There are Easter, Confirmation and First Holy Communion cards for sale in the Parish Centre.
