Weekly Bulletin 6th & 7th November

We thank you for last Sunday’s Offertory Collection of €1,234 and the Share Collection which amounted to €815. The Offertory Collection on All saint’s Day amounted to €335 and the Share Collection amounted to €815.

Niamh Doody, (who many of you will remember from her Sunday morning voluntary work in the Parish Pastoral Centre) will be having a church door collection after all masses this weekend for the Hope Foundation. Niamh, and some other students from Alexandra College, will travel to Calcutta where they will be working in an orphanage helping to better the lives of the children there.

Sacrament of Baptism
We welcome Sarah Neville, Ethan Fuller and Lillie Mc. Hugh who were baptised into our Christian Community on Saturday.

We offer our condolences to the family and friends of the late Maura Byrne whose funeral Mass took place in our church on Wednesday last. May she rest in peace.

Altar List of the Dead
Traditionally in November, when each year we pray for our dead, Churches enrol the names of your family, relatives and friends who have departed this life on an annual ‘Altar List
of the Dead’. There are envelopes available on the tables beside the entrance doors to the church if you wish to complete your Altar List of the Dead and return them to the church.

The Parish Pastoral Centre is open for Tea/Coffee every weekday and Sunday morning. Do drop in to meet some of your fellow parishioners.

Catholic Youth Care – CYC
The annual CYC collection will replace the Share Collection at all Masses next weekend. A speaker from the CYC will also address the congregation at next weekend’s Masses; Nov. 13th & 14th.

Milltown Parish Local History Society has invited Dr. Martin Holland to give a presentation on ‘Clonskeagh, A Place in History’. This will take place in the Parish Pastoral Centre on this Monday evening, November 8th at 8pm. All welcome to attend.


Christmas Craft and Home Produce Sale
Sunday, Nov. 28th 10am -2pm

A sizeable donation of dried fruit has been donated to the Home Produce section of the Parish Christmas Fair. If you would like to make some cakes/preserves for the Christmas Craft and Home Produce Fair, please call into the Parish Pastoral Centre and collect some of this fruit. More details on the Home Produce section of the fair can be obtained from: Ann O’Beirne at 4966165.

Donations of craft items and cakes for sale at the Fair will be very much appreciated.

The parish Adult & Toddler Group meets in the Parish Pastoral centre at 10.30am on
Friday mornings.

The ‘Thursday Craft Morning’ takes place in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 10.30 on Thursday mornings. This gathering provides an opportunity for all who knit, sew, crochet or whatever, to share their creative talents. New members welcome.

Milltown Parish Art Exhibition
The parish Art Group will host their second Art Exhibition next weekend. Fr. Philip will open this event on Friday 12th at 7.30pm. The exhibition will remain on display throughout the weekend. A percentage of the sales will be donated to parish funds. Do call in and support this creative event.

Rathmines women’s Refuge
The Women’s Refuge on Lr. Rathmines Rd. (opposite Rathmines Church) urgently requires ladies and children’s clothing, bedding and toys. Please consider dropping some of these items into the Refuge, your donations will be very much appreciated.


A Bethany Bereavement Residential Weekend
will be held from the 19th to 21st November. This weekend explores the loss of our loved ones and the meaning of death from a Christian perspective through prayer, meditation, discussion, videos and sharing. €180.00 per person (Deposit €50.00) Sponsorship available. Golden Jubilee of St Pius X Church Templeogue
A Mass to celebrate this Golden Jubilee will take place in St Pius X Church on Saturday 27 November at 7pm. We would like to invite all priests and former parishioners who had any association with the church to attend. We would be grateful if you could let us know if you will be attending. Orlagh Retreat Centre, Saturday, November 13.
Where can you turn when things get bad? Theme for the ‘Day for Yourself’. The day will be led by Bernadette Toal and John Byrne and runs from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm with the opportunity of staying on for Mass at 4.30pm. Cost €50 (including lunch)

Sunday, November 14: The gospel for the coming liturgical year is the Gospel of Matthew. On Sunday, November 14th, Sean Goan will lead a study day on this gospel under the title Emmanuel–God with us–Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew.
