Condolences to the family and friends of the late Eugene Tobin. His Funeral Mass took place here during the past week.

Rainelle Dadivas, Ben O’Connor & Siona Fuller were baptised here on Saturday morning. We welcome them into our Christian community and congratulate their parents.

The Radharc Films series continues in the Parish Pastoral Centre for the next two weeks. The screenings take place at 8pm on Thursday evenings Next Thursday’s film are: Fergal of Salzburg, Adams Daughters and Tonga, the Friendly Isles. All invited to attend.

An outdoor collection for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is taking place after all Masses this weekend. Your support will be very much appreciated.

The Cor na Nog choir will sing during the 11.30 am Mass on Sunday May 22nd.

This Sunday’s 10am Mass is part of the ‘Do this in Memory of Me’ programme for children who will be receiving their First Holy Communion in Milltown Parish Church on next Saturday, May 14th.

Share Appeal Day: This weekend we are reminded that the Share collection is used for supporting parishes throughout the diocese with a broad range of services.Copies of the Dublin Diocesan Consolidated Parish Financial Statements for year ended June 2010 are available at the back of the church - well worth a read. ORLAGH RETREAT CENTRE:In keeping with the spirit of the Easter season the theme for the monthly DAY FOR YOURSELF in Orlagh Retreat Centre on Saturday, May 14th, is Living Life to the Full. It will run from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm with the option of staying on for Mass at 4.30. The day will be conducted by Fr.John Byrne OSA and Dr. Bernadette Toal. Cost €50. To book, contact Fr. A Photographic Exhibition in aid of the Carers Association will open on next Friday evening , 13th May, in the Parish Pastoral Centre. This exhibition will display photographs taken by Maureen Mc. Donnell who is a member of the Royal Photographic Society. The Carer’s Association represents a large number of carers who give voluntary care to their loved ones who are elderly and frail, seriously ill people, those with disabilities, and children with special needs. Do drop into the centre during next weekend to view these wonderful photographs. Framed copies of the Artists work will be available for sale at the exhibition.

The Parish Bethany Bereavement Support Group has invited Maeve Douglas who is a psychotherapist and Bereavement Counsellor, to speak in the Parish Pastoral Centre. This talk will take place on Monday May 23rd at 8pm. All are welcome to attend.

. The Church Book Rack has been replenished and now has some informative & interesting publications for sale.

World Youth Day will take place in Madrid in August. If you are 18 to 25 years of age, and are interested in taking part in this event, please contact one of the priests in the Parish. Milltown Parish is willing to help sponsor a young parishioner who would like to attend this event. If there are no applicants from this parish consideration will be given to sponsoring a young person from some other parish.

Claire Hutchison from Foroige has kindly offered to address the congregation at Masses next weekend. Foroige is the National Youth Development Organisation which is a voluntary organisation that engages members of the community in youth development and education. Foróige believes that each person is unique and creative and can contribute to improving the world in which they live. It enables young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and in the development of society.
It is proposed that Claire will soon facilitate an open meeting in the Parish Pastoral Centre. The purpose of this meeting will be to asses the needs of teenagers within the parish.

COMMUNION IN THE HOME
We invite parishioners to inform the priests if any members of their families or neighbours who may be housebound and would wish the Eucharist to be taken to them periodically.

Crosscare Drug and Alcohol Programme: If someone you love is having difficulties with alcohol, drugs, gambling or the internet ,and you feel isolated and alone dealing with this, we can help support you. Crosscare Drug and Alcohol Programme (DAP) is hosting a’ Significant Other Support Group’ .For further information please contact Gerard or Susan at 01 8360911.
